The National Collegiate Equestrian Association announced its March Riders of the Month on Friday.
March's Equifit Equitation On the Flat Rider of the Month goes to Fresno State's Alex Dirickson. She posted a 2-0 record in Equitation On The Flat in March with a pair of MOP honors. She scored a team-high 85 against UC Davis with a five-point victory. She followed that up with an 81 against Oklahoma State, defeating her opponent by 14. Dirickson garnered UEC Co-Flat Rider of the Week honors.
Delaware State's Gabrielle Fournier earned the February Equifit Equitation Over Fences Rider of the Month Award. She charted a 3-0 record in Equitation Over Fences in the month of March with two home wins and one road victory. Fournier earned MVP honors in the win against South Dakota State. She defeated her opponents by an average margin of 6.3 points during the month of March.
This month's Shorty's Horsemanship Rider of the Month goes to Sarah Miller of Oklahoma State. She posted a 3-0 record in Horsemanship during the month and helped her squad to three team victories. She averaged a score of 76.1 during the month of March, setting season-high scores of 76.5 at both Delaware State and against South Dakota State. Miller out-scored her opponents by an average of five points.
Hannah Mitchell of Oklahoma State takes the Shorty's Reining Rider of the Month award. She was 3-0 in Reining during the month of March and helped her squad to three team victories. She outscored her opponents by an average of 3.6 points. Miller set a new season-high of 74 against No. 9 Fresno State. She had the highest score of any Reining rider in two of her team's three meets in March and earned one MOP honor.
