The National Collegiate Equestrian Association announced its February Riders of the Month on Thursday.
February's Equifit Equitation On the Flat Rider of the Month goes to McKayla Langmeier of Auburn. Langmeier posted a 5-0 record in the month of February, defeating opponents by an average margin of victory of 12 points. She averaged a score of 86.0 on the flat in February and picked up the first flat MOP honor of her career against No. 9 Delaware State. Langmeier scored a career-high 91 in her win against UT Martin. She picked up back-to-back 10-point wins to cap the month, including a road win at No. 3 South Carolina.
TCU's Izzy Baxter earned the February Equifit Equitation Over Fences award. Baxter was 5-1 in the month of February over fences, averaging a score of 80.2 and defeating her opponents by an average margin of 4.0 points. She earned two MOP honors during the month of February.
This month's Shorty's Horsemanship Rider of the Month goes to Auburn's Taylor Searles. Searles was a perfect 5-0 in February, helping the Tigers go 20-3-1 in February in the event. She averaged a score of 74.4 with a four-point margin of victory. Searles finished the month with a big win on the road at No. 3 South Carolina, topping her opponent with a score of 73.
Holly Lansidel of SMU takes the Shorty's Reining Rider of the Month award. She posted a perfect 3-0 record in reining with three MOP honors. Lansidel averaged a score of 73.2 and defeated her opponents by an average score of 2.5. A pair of her wins came against top-10 opponents Texas A&M and Oklahoma State.
