UNITED EQUESTRIAN CONFERENCE RIDERS OF THE MONTH (OCTOBER 2017)

The United Equestrian Conference has announced its October Riders of the Month.

Equitation Over Fences Rider of the Month: Abbie Hopkins, UT-Martin

  • Registered a 2-0 record in Equitation over Fences during the month of October, earning a pair of MVP honors.
  • Averaged a score of 85.5 during the month of October and defeated her opponents by an average score of 7.5 points.
  • The freshman helped boost UT-Martin into the NCEA top-10 national rankings.

Equitation On The Flat Rider of the Month: Hayley Anderson, Delaware State

  • Recorded a 2-1 record in Equitation on the Flat during the month of October, earning a pair of MVP honors.
  • Averaged a score of 84.33 during the month of October with two scores better than 90. Defeated opponents in her two victories by an average margin of 10.5.
  • Had the day’s highest score on the flat in both of her wins, defeating TCU’s Patty Gill and UT-Martin’s Randi LaChance.

Horsemanship Rider of the Month: Tess Baumann, UT-Martin

  • The freshman recorded a 2-0 record in Horsemanship during the month of October.
  • Earned MVP honors in each of her events in October, defeating opponents from nationally ranked TCU and Delaware State.
  • Averaged a score of 73.5 during the month of October, defeating opponents by an average of 2.0 points.
  • Influential in boosting UT-Martin to a top-10 national ranking. 

Reining Rider of the Month: Catelyn Hall, South Dakota State

  • Posted a 2-0 record in Reining during the month of October.
  • Defeated South Carolina’s Bailey Walters 71.5-69 to help South Dakota State secure a 5-0 sweep in reining in a 15-4 team win.
  • Beat Fresno State’s Allison Nordvall 68.5-68 to help South Dakota State secure two points in reining.
  • Averaged a score of 70 in October and defeated her opponents by an average of 1.5 points.
