National Collegiate Equestrian Association Announces Farnam Horse Care as New Corporate Sponsor to Support Collegiate Equestrian Programs
National Advisory Board identifies new sponsor to support collegiate riding within the NCAA
Waco, Texas (October 11, 2017) – The National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) today announced the most recent addition to the list of sponsors who support the advancement of Women’s Equestrian on the path to National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) championship sport status.
“The addition of Farnam as a national sponsor places NCEA in a strong position. As we continue to grow in the number of educational opportunities through athletics that we can provide for student-athletes, we are sure that Farnam’s commitment will be celebrated by all NCEA collegiate programs,” said Dr. Leah Fiorentino, executive director of the NCEA. “This is the beginning of a long-term relationship with Farnam as we continue our expansion efforts to new schools across the country.”
“Farnam Horse Care is excited to announce a new partnership we have established with the NCEA. At Farnam, we are committed to the well-being of horses and horsemen of all ages and walks of life and we know our new partners at the NCEA are as well. With more than 70 years in the industry, Farnam brings great experience and only the highest quality products to the market to enhance the lives of horses and horsemen. Farnam is a leader in the Fly Control, Supplements, Grooming, Dewormer, Wound Care, Leather Care and Hoof Care categories – uniquely caring for the whole horse – inside and out, from head to hoof. The NCEA represents the best the sport has to offer at the collegiate level and the future of our industry. We are extremely excited to embark upon our partnership with them. Together, we share a passion for horses and the horseman's lifestyle and we couldn’t be happier to be making this announcement,” said Kevin Tompkins, vice president of equine marketing at Farnam.
“Receiving Farnam’s sponsorship support is an honor for the NCEA. Their recognition of the exceptional efforts of both NCEA team horses and NCEA student-athlete academic success throughout the 2017-18 competitive and academic season directly complements their corporate emphasis on simplifying horse care with supplies and information that make the most out of every moment together with your horse. The NCEA strives to make the most out of the relationship with Farnam,” said Nancy Post, associate athletics director/SWA advancement at Baylor University.
“We are excited to welcome Farnam as a national sponsor for the NCEA,” said Tom O’Mara, co-chair of the NCEA National Advisory Board. “Their support and vision in advancing the opportunities for young women in our sport is greatly appreciated. In the past 50 years, most every women’s sport has eventually been given its due and recognized with Championship status as part of NCAA Athletics. Equestrian is currently designated as an NCAA Emerging Sport and with help from sponsors like Farnam we will soon have it added to the Championship Sport designation where all in the equestrian world would like it to be.”
Celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2016, Farnam Companies, Inc., has grown to become one of the most widely recognized names in the animal health products industry, and has become one of the largest marketers of equine products in the country.
