The United Equestrian Conference announced its September Riders of the Month on Thursday.

Fresno State took home three honors with Sierra Swaffer snagging Equitation on the Flat Rider of the Month, Taeya Harle earning the Horsemanship Rider of the Month, and Paige Barton receiving Reining Rider of the Month after grabbing the NCEA Shorty's Reining Rider of the Month. Alexandra Murphy from SMU received the Equitation Over Fences Rider of the Month.

Equitation Over Fences Rider of the Month: Alexandra Murphy, SMU

  • Posted a 1-0 record in Equitation Over Fences during the month of September, helping her team to a season-opening win against No. 6 TCU.
  • Scored an 86 and defeated her opponent by five points. Earned MVP honors for the first time in her collegiate career.
  • Gave SMU its final point in a 4-1 advantage in Equitation Over Fences that started the meet and carried the Mustangs to an 11-8 win against TCU.

Equitation On The Flat Rider of the Month: Sierra Swaffar, Fresno State

  • Charted a 3-0 record in Equitation On The Flat during the first month of the collegiate equestrian season.
  • Earned an MVP honor against her opponent from No. 3 Georgia.
  • Averaged a score of 82 during the month of September and defeated opponents by an average margin of 5.7 points in her three competitions.

Horsemanship Rider of the Month: Taeya Harle, Fresno State

  • Tallied a 2-1 record in Horsemanship during the month of September.
  • Earned a pair of MVP honors in her three outings, including one against her opponent from No. 1 Texas A&M.
  • Averaged as score of 74.17 during the first month of the collegiate season.

Reining Rider of the Month: Paige Barton, Fresno State

  • Posted a 3-0 record in Reining during the first month of the collegiate equestrian season.
  • Earned two MVP honors in three outings, including one against her opponent from No. 1 Texas A&M.
  • Averaged a score of 71.17 during the month of September and defeated opponents by an average margin of 3.3 points in her three competitions.
