National Advisory Board of the National Collegiate Equestrian Association Announces Equo Transport as New Corporate Sponsor
NCEA sponsors help support collegiate equestrian programs throughout the nation
Waco, Texas (September 6, 2017) – The National Advisory Board (NAB) of the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) today announced Equo Transport, an on line horse transportation company, as the most recent addition to the list of sponsors dedicated to supporting Women’s Equestrian on the path to National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) championship sport status.
“The partnership with Equo Transport is one of the most exciting opportunities presented thus far in the 2017-18 season. Our equine-athletes will surely benefit from the excellent services provided by Equo Transport,” said NCEA Executive Director Dr. Leah Fiorentino. “It is wonderful to have leading equine industry sponsors as we continue to expand our sport to new collegiate teams. We are grateful for the efforts from the NAB to make connections with the very best companies in the equine industry.”
The NAB continues to build partnerships with equine industry leaders such as Equo Transport. These new sponsors contribute to NCEA programs’ future expansions.
"The NCEA is changing the way Equestrian Collegiate sports are perceived by raising it to a top level sport while giving access to thousands of student-athletes to either pursue their equestrian careers or to get involved with equestrian sports. Both Equo and NCEA are working towards the same goal: giving access not only to student-athletes but to all their families and friends to the most amazing sport there is, equestrian sports. We truly believe that by working together we can help equestrian sports grow. We are thrilled to be part of such an amazing cause," said Steven Bluman, CEO, Equo Transport
The NCEA, with the support of the NCAA ensures that equestrian student-athletes will be part of the effort to maintain meaningful educational opportunities for women through athletics.
“We are pleased to welcome Equo Transport as a national sponsor. Their innovative approach to equine transportation is impressive. We value their support as we advance the sport of equestrian at the collegiate level and provide meaningful educational opportunities for women through collegiate athletics,” said Kelly Boles Chapman, former co-chair National Advisory Board.
Right now more than 900 women participate on NCAA equestrian teams across the nation and the number is growing each year. There is a renewed focus on the addition of new collegiate teams through outreach and advancement efforts.
