NRHA Collegiate Cup

In dramatic fashion with a ride off, Hannah Mitchell from Oklahoma State University defeated a field of 11 other riders and survived a ride off to win the NRHA Collegiate Cup this year.  Both Hannah Williams and Julia Spreng from the University of Georgia tied in the first round with a total score of 217.5 from the judges.  Taylor Brown from Fresno finished a close third with a 216.

For the first time in the history of the class, this required a ride off where the top two competitors had to swap horses and ride the pattern again.  Mitchell went first and set the bar with a 222.5.  Spreng posted a 220.5 but it was not enough to take the bronze trophy donated by the NRHA for the class.

The NRHA has been huge supporters of the NCEA riders each year and are sponsors for the organization at the NCEA National Championships as title sponsors for the reining events.
