WACO, Texas – Texas A&M is the new No. 1 in the latest National Collegiate Equestrian Association National Team Rankings, as determined by the NCEA Selection Committee and announced on Wednesday.
This is the Aggies’ first time at No. 1 since the preseason rankings of the 2012-13 season when Texas A&M and Georgia were tied at the top spot. Prior to Wednesday’s rankings announcement, Auburn had been ranked No. 1 nationally in every rankings announcement consecutively since November 17, 2015.
Auburn dropped to No. 2 this week, after falling to Fresno State before defeating Delaware State this past weekend. Georgia is ranked No. 3 after being edged narrowly by South Carolina in the Bulldogs’ season opener.
Baylor checks in at No. 4, while Fresno State, with a 4-1 record, is No. 5.
SMU is No. 6, while TCU is No. 7. South Carolina, which has posted a 2-1 record on the season, is No. 8. Oklahoma State (No. 9) and New Mexico State (No. 10) round out the nation’s top-10.
