In October 2014, the NCAA’s Committee on Women’s Athletics (CWA) recommended that Equestrian be removed from the list of emerging sports. Following this recommendation, the University of Tennessee at Martin announced a plan to make Women's Equestrian a club sport, with 2015-16 being the final year of NCAA competition.
But, in summer 2015, the NCAA decided against the CWA's recommendation and announced it would continue to support Women's Equestrian as an emerging sport for women. Following suit, UT Martin is recommitting to Women's Equestrian as a varsity sport, but the university needs your help.
UT Martin is launching a campaign to raise $250,000 by December 31, 2015, as part of the effort to keep Equestrian as a varsity sport and allow its student-athletes the opportunity to compete as an NCAA sanctioned team in the 2016-17 season.
Help support UTM's dedicated student-athletes by making a gift to Women's Equestrian today.
