Re: November Update on NCEA activities

In an effort to maintain the flow of accurate and timely information about NCEA activities, I am providing an update with great news from the leadership of the United State Olympic Committee (USOC).

Monday morning I received a letter of support from Scott Blackmun (USOC-CEO) stating his support for equestrian programs at the collegiate level. He sent the letter directly to the NCAA committee membership. I have forwarded the letter to the NCAA staff members that are working with the NCEA to expand the sport of equestrian.

Mr. Blackmun is quick to note that collegiate athletics are an important part of the Olympic pipeline and he emphasizes that equestrian plays an important role in the increase of meaningful participation opportunities for women. He further noted that equestrian student-athletes have proven to be exceptional students.

We are grateful for this public statement of support from Mr. Blackmun!

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Thank you for your continued commitment to NCEA
